I have just spent the last week over at Brightcove HQ in Boston. It's been a thought-provoking and exciting time with lots of valuable information and opinion to bring back to London. One major highlight was listening to Brightcove Chairman and CEO, Jeremy Allaire, talking about the evolution of online video as a publishing platform. Some of his principle vision statements are at heart refreshingly simple and very engaging. For example, he talks of a sequence of seismic changes in the world of content publishing beginning at the revolution that was desktop publishing followed by an incredible and massive profusion of online text publishing (ie early days Internet) and more recently, the seemingly inevitable flowering of online video publishing, which is still in its infancy. Words of wisdom from a man with a certain amount of commercial pedigree in these subjects!
